Il “long COVID”, la sindrome da post-COVID che può durare settimane o addirittura mesi dopo l’infezione, può avere un impatto fortemente negativo su lavoratori determinando nei luoghi di lavoro difficoltà organizzative e anche nella gestione della sicurezza e della prevenzione dei rischi per la salute.
La sindrome da post-COVID, nota come “long COVID”, può avere un impatto fortemente negativo sui lavoratori e nei luoghi di lavoro. Difficoltà respiratorie, stanchezza, mal di testa nonché problemi di memoria e concentrazione sono sintomi che possono durare settimane o addirittura mesi. Quando lavoratori che ricoprono posizioni chiave non riescono a tornare pienamente operativi a causa dei sintomi da long COVID possono rivelarsi necessari adeguamenti delle modalità di lavoro.
Il documento di riflessione “Impact of long Covid on workers and workplaces and the role of osh” (Impatto del long COVID sui lavoratori e sui luoghi di lavoro e ruolo della SSL) illustra le difficoltà nella gestione della sicurezza sul lavoro e nella prevenzione dei rischi per la salute connessi al fenomeno. Presenta inoltre possibili misure attuative per ridurre l’impatto del long COVID e sottolinea l’importanza di affrontare aspetti di protezione in caso di eventuali pandemie future.
